Art Basel Miami 2012 was officially over this weekend, which means I can finally rest tomorrow. Thank God.
I’ve been so busy at work (since I work at one of the “hippest” Artsy-Smartsy health spas in Miami), and it’s pretty much the Mecca of all-things Art Basel. Corporate made everyone get matching white Converse shoes to wear all week… meaning I’ve been running around a slippery pool all day long in the heat with my toes cramped up. In NON slip-resistant shoes.
That was a genius idea. Hello workman’s comp.
My wide a** feet would have been happier if a machete chopped them off. Actually I was VERY worried Sunday that my pinky toes had been crushed from working on my feet for 11+ hours.
False alarm. They just didn’t look like toes anymore.
I did however get to hang out in Wynwood for a couple hours during Saturday night’s Art Walk. There was a mob scene of people checking out all the open art galleries, live music acts, and about 30 food trucks.
Obviously I was there for the food.

Love this idea, although sadly they weren’t as packed as some of the other trucks.
I may or may not have gotten a pulled pork, chorizo, and chicharones (pork skin) arepa.
This conch was being sold out of the back of a car’s hatch back. Super legit.
Just a small corner of an entire neighborhood’s worth of murals.
Needless to say I haven’t made any delicious recipes, minus my boyfriend’s go-to red curry dish because it’s been such a sh*t show all week. I really think I just need a hug.
And some chocolate.
