Yuca rolls (or cheese rolls) are very dangerous. When left to my own devices, I could kill a whole batch of these by myself. Luckily, I now have more restraint since going on The 21-Day Sugar Detox.
THANK GOD cheese is allowed on the first level of the Detox. I wouldn’t consider myself a Cheese Freak (unlike my sister, who can knock out an entire block of cheddar in one sitting). But I really do enjoy a slice with some prosciutto or even goat cheese in a kale salad. Yummo.
If you’ve never heard of yuca cheese rolls before, then I’d suggest heading to your local Whole Foods and checking their fresh pastry/muffin section. Mine always has fresh ones. On the rare occasion that I eat breakfast to-go, I stop by WF and grab a yuca roll with a fruit cup. But like I said, be careful because they are highly addicting!
Oh and in case ya didn’t know, yuca is the same as cassava, which is the same as tapioca. Hence the name “Yuca Cheese Rolls” made from tapioca flour. BOOM.
I must admit that I’ve been making these for awhile using the same recipe from King Arthur Flour. It’s really easy and the only thing I changed was the coconut milk part. So stop thinking I’m a genius and bow down to The King instead.
