Yes this is a Christmas dessert post… 3 days after Christmas. Minor details, people.
Apparently I’m irresponsible with my camera.
Anyway, I swear this is the last dessert post for awhile… or at least until I make something delicious by accident. Part of my resolutions for the New Year include cutting back on the sweets, so instead of waiting till the 1st I’ll be implementing them NOW.
Christmas was a complete success. I was sad that my mom wasn’t making mashed potatoes with her famous gravy, but she informed me that “Christmas isn’t Thanksgiving, goof” and I guess she was right. I can eat Thanksgiving dinner all day every day. But Christmas dinner comes close.
What’s up with me liking ham this year? Usually I hate ham… because it’s rubbery and generally cold. This year it was warm, succulent and all-around fabulous. I must be getting older, gah.
Or maybe it’s from eating my weight in bacon this year.
I can tell you, however, that I’ve been so excited to eat leftover ham, whipped sweet potatoes, and spiced fruit leftovers every day. Sometimes twice a day.
Actually I’m eating the last of the sweet potatoes now. This depresses me.
Too bad all the peppermint white chocolate mousse is gone. My family pretty much annhialted it, even though I served it in cute shot glasses. Not too sweet, not too heavy.
I did that on purpose. (Because it’s SO much harder to binge out on heavy, sugary treats… baha.)
