Last week I promised to do a Valentine’s Day Desserts for Two series. But although this recipe makes more than two servings, I can promise you my boyfriend and I can polish off this batch of rose buttercream heart macarons by ourselves (IF we’re in a sharing mood.)
Plus I had two egg whites left over from my paleo crème brulees. Cheers to macarons. Never again will I throw away egg whites/yolks when a recipe doesn’t call for them!
I’ve also been dying to try out heart-shaped macarons after I saw a video of them a couple months back. I still need some practice, but they turned out much better than I expected!
Now I know you guys hate me and my macs. I get it. The whole ‘cup of powdered sugar’ thing throws you off, along with the knowledge that there is absolutely no nutritious value in these sinful French cookies.
But damnit, you are NOT taking them away from me! I WILL become an amazing macaron show-off, whether the Paleo Police likes it or not.
Speaking of show-off, my sexy oak barrel is churning out delicious kombucha tea every week. We have started experimenting with different flavors during the secondary fermentation stage. I had no idea it would be so easy. Suck it GT’s!
Who else is with me on the Kombucha kick?
