Happy belated New Year! I’ve been here on South Beach, working my butt off as usual. I saw a friend who follows my blog a few weeks ago, and he called me out for not posting more frequently. He said, “Each new post you keep saying how you PROMISE you’re going to rededicate yourself to your website, and then another month goes by without you posting anything.”
Ahem, oops. Sorry y’all.
Today is day 10 of my first ever Whole30. If you’ve been following SBP for a while, then you know I’ve completed a few 21 Day Sugar Detoxes, but I’ve never done a Whole30 before. WOW! I love it! I think the buffer for Whole30 is the fact that you can eat “some fruit”- which is at least twice the amount of fruit you can eat on the 21DSD. As a total sugar addict, I can say that at least two pieces of fruit per day makes life SO much more enjoyable.
I posted these Before pictures on IG last week as a means of keeping myself accountable and on track. I think this is the first time that my Before pictures look pretty damn good. In fact, my main mission during the next 20 days is to keep my weight healthy (as the pounds tend to melt off me when I’m 100% Paleo) and instead gain healthy lean muscle mass.
So far, I haven’t exactly accomplished that. I’ve lost about 6 lbs and I’m STILL on a waiting list to join a new gym on the beach. So meanwhile I’m just sitting here, munching on healthy fats, protein, and potatoes, and trying desperately to keep the weight on me. To be continued…
Here’s an example of my blogging procrastination: I made these Mini Salted Caramel Pumpkin Cheesecakes for Thanksgiving and I’m just now posting the recipe. Freaking hilarious. Can I just say that I would give my left arm for one of these grain-free cheesecakes right now? And that crust! It’s seriously my best grain-free pie crust ever! It tastes just like a glutenfree crust that you make from ginger snaps. I can’t wait to try it out on a full-sized pie.
I actually got the idea for these cheesecakes on Pinterest when I saw this awesome photo. Salted caramel + pumpkin + mini cheesecakes? Brilliant. I knew immediately that I had to make them Primal. And I’m so so glad I did.
