I don’t know what’s gotten into me lately but I’ve been having the worst recipe-block ever. It seems like any new thing I think up goes to crap once I put it to practice.
I made quite possibly the WORST brunch last week; a recipe I thought was sure to be a winner. Quickly followed by two failed recipes throughout the week. And then to top it off our kombucha brew was all kinds of vinegar-y all of a sudden. We had to completely isolate our SCOBY and then start a new batch from scratch.
It sucks being crapped on by the Food Gods.
Then came Thursday. I noticed I wasn’t eating enough seafood in my life when I left work and was stopped dead in my tracks from the smell of mussels wafting from the kitchen. I’ve always been a sucker for saucy-shellfish dishes.
Needless to say I stopped at the market on the way home and bought ingredients to make a quick dish to satisfy my craving.
Local Florida shrimp were on sale, so this dish cost me about $8 total.
I’d consider this the perfect appetizer for 2-3 people, or just a nice a** portion for
