This past summer I took a juicing class at Whole Foods and was instantly sold. My reasoning of course (besides health reasons) was to juice anything edible that was going bad in my fridge. See, my taste buds care a lot about beauty, so if it LOOKS ugly then it ain’t goin’ in my mouth. But if it’s baked, mashed, shredded, or blended- well it still tastes good.
So needless to say I decided I
wanted needed a juicer around the same time my boyfriend bought me my long anticipated Vitamix birthday present. AKA not a juicer. A blender. Which was awesome and all but damnitwhydoapplianceshavetobesoexpensive! And take up room in our tiny apartment.
Finally after months of making delicious smoothies I read about a way to make juices from a Vitamix. Granted I don’t know how this recipe will go over with a regular blender (it will probably be mad at me) but I’ve found that just a bit of cheese cloth and some extra time in my morning can save me tons of money from places who are trying to charge $7+ for an 8oz juice. That’s just craziness, I tell you.
You can even save the left over pulp and bake them in primal breads, or add a little to give your fresh juice some weight. The possibilities are endless. ENDLESS!
